Rehabilitation and restructuring of companies in crisis
Goals and objective of IDAS
A failing business prompts specific challenges to a business’ management and owners. Other stakeholders like employees, investors or business partners are as well affected by a failure and wish for a definite and reliable statement on the business future as soon as possible.
The law on business rescue in Germany as well as in jurisdictions around the world responds to such a situation with a great variety of rules, duties and assistance.
The goals of the Institute for German and Foreign Law on Business Rescue (IDAS) are:
- to explain and evaluate the law relevant to a business rescue in German as well as abroad,
- to disseminate technical information about German and foreign law relevant for business rescue,
- to discuss and negotiate relevant topics with academics, practitioners and relevant officials of national and international bodies,
- to facilitate networking between members and exchange of professional experience,
and, thus, to contribute to the evaluation and further development of German and Foreign business rescue law.
